Hired Law firm 2024-2025As a disabled/disability senior. Contacted to represented this attorney for an utility easement problem. He Took 2,000 and went on vacation. the matter was not resolved. He reported he was too sick suffering a heart attack after the vacation to to do anything. Did not return money paid of $2000 plus and retainer.

Hired Law firm 2024-2025Contacted to represent us in severe home sales fraud with massive water damage and severe termite damage covering. Took 2,000 and for a while went on vacation. Having us secure all information from contractors, Orkin, and Allstate inspections and having us get another FHA inspection now states our home is 100,000 less and non-livable, all agree to help us in court, He now after doing nothing sends our 2000 retainer back

Hired Law firm 2024We are grateful for Michael! He guided us through the purchase and closing of our retirement home in the Cincinnati area. He was available for phone calls at any time during the day. He charged us a flat fee saving us thousands of dollars! He provided a for sale by owner contract which we used to purchase our home. He worked with us during the whole process of the purchase including review of our closing figures and settlement documents. We were confident to go to sale with Michael's expertise and knowledge of the real estate laws. Thank you Michael!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
