It was my first time facing a felony in my life. Had I been found guilty, I would have jeopardized my custody of my daughter and my career. I needed an aggressive criminal defense attorney and I had one opportunity to get it right, and I did exactly that by hiring Attorney Morgan Caruso. She was able to get the felony charge reduced to a misdemeanor, with other charges dismissed. I left the court that day with a small fine to pay and what felt like my entire world still intact. Her compassion and her skill is something to truly behold and I’m eternally grateful that she was there for me in my time of need.

BEST CRIMINAL DEFENSE LAWYER!!! I would recommend her to anyone in Cleveland and throughout Ohio. She'll treat you like family and do anything necessary to achieve her goals no matter what obstacles may fall in the way. She fears no one. She's smart, smooth, and people love her everywhere she goes.. but she's not just out to make friends, she gets the job done. Morgan is everything an attorney should be and more.

I can't thank Morgan enough. I was in a tight legal situation and I was lucky to find her. She saw me last minute and took full control of my case and told me to give all my stress and anxiety to her and I can call her at anytime. After being gouged in the past by other attorneys, Morgan's rates are exceptionally reasonable and her knowledge of my case in such a short time. Again, I can't thank Morgan enough!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
