Hired Attorney 2023-2024Working with this attorney was one of the most frustrating and disappointing professional experiences I’ve ever had. Despite being well into his 60s, he behaves with the emotional maturity of a teenager desperate for attention. Every interaction felt like I was dealing with someone performing for an invisible audience rather than focusing on the serious legal matter at hand. What’s worse is his astounding lack of knowledge when it comes to immigration law. He quite literally did not know what he was talking about, misquoting regulations, making basic factual errors, and clearly failing to understand even the most fundamental legal concepts relevant to my case. It was not just ignorance; it was willful laziness, and he made no effort to educate himself or seek clarification. Instead of advocating for his client or putting in the necessary work to build a case, his go-to strategy was to dismiss everything entirely, even when the facts and merits of the case clearly justified further pursuit. This wasn’t legal advice. It was apathy and laziness dressed up as authority. He acted more like someone trying to avoid work than someone actually committed to helping. His ego is enormous, but his competence is nonexistent. I would strongly urge anyone seeking real, knowledgeable, and committed legal representation — especially in immigration matters — to look elsewhere.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
