Cuyahoga Falls Asset Protection & Medicaid Planning Lawyer
Overview
Diligent, Compassionate, Meticulous
Life is not easy. Whether you’re planning for retirement, recovering from a car crash, or mourning the passing of a loved one, life presents challenges all too often. Andrew (Andy), has been there. He has been the confused victim of another person’s negligence when he was young. He has had to pick up the pieces when loved ones have passed. When life throws up a roadblock, you want Andy by your side.
Andy focuses his practice on only a few areas of law in order to ensure he provides clients with accurate, thorough, and detailed solutions to their problems. Mr. Popp dedicates dozens of hours each year on staying up to date with the most current laws and legal solutions to ensure you get the best results possible.
Mr. Popp is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Florida and regularly assists Clients with estate planning in both locations. The legal system is complex, even more so in recent years. Having a knowledgeable counselor in your corner can spell the difference between an estate plan than functions as intended, or one that crumbles under pressure and creates more problems than it solves.
Across his years of experience, Attorney Popp has seen the impact that can occur to a family when a plan is not in place, or when DIY documents create problems. He can educate and guide you through the morass that estate planning has become. Whether it’s designing a family trust that can safeguard and support your family for generations, or managing a complex probate estate, Mr. Popp can help.
Prior to starting his own practice, Andy worked on both sides of the aisle in working to find solutions for his Clients. Whether this was in his role as a criminal prosecutor, or partner in other firms, the experience he gained has proven invaluable in advising Clients, and litigating cases on their behalf.
As a leader in the community, Andy is constantly searching for ways to improve the lives of others in our area. Throughout the years, Mr. Popp has been involved in or volunteered with numerous organizations, including:
- The Ohio Bar Association, Florida Bar Association
- Pinellas County Trial Lawyers’ Association
- Akron Bar Association, Portage County Bar Association
- Hospice of the Western Reserve

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
