Hired Law firm 2019-2021These guys are thieves. Made a huge mistake on my claim and took the 33% anyways before settling the mistake. I had to appeal and file a bunch of forms to make them pay back the fees. They refused to pay it back even after acknowledging they made the mistake. Mrs. Willis, in particular, made calls to me about this and forgot even talking with me. She actually kind of dared me to fire them, which I did, then called back 2 weeks later surprised and wanting to discuss why it happened lol. Terrible law firm. Pass on these guys.

Hired Law firm 2021Two and 1/2 years into a very complicated personal injury case, due to my being rear-ended by another motorist driving at a very high speed, the attorney representing me became incapacitated, thus unable to finish the case already in the litigation phase. Fortunately, after close to three months, I connected with Ashley Starling, a highly reputable personal injury attorney and partner at Willis Spangler Starling Law Firm. She requested my authorization to co-counsel my case with another top-notch personal injury and medical malpractice attorney associated with a prominent law firm due to their working together successfully in the past on complicated cases. I met with Ashley and the co-counsel for several hours to discuss the entire case and provide thousands of pages of critical information to enlighten them with the matter. It was an excellent meeting with our signing documents for them to represent me. I was impressed with Ashley's wonderful demeanor, knowledge, experience, and savvy paralegal, Alynnah Satterfield. I left this meeting feeling relieved to have an excellent team now representing me. I understood this case could take another nine months or more to resolve in a jury trial. Ashley and her co-counsel's respective teams worked diligently while keeping me in the loop the entire time. Due to their expertise and experience, my legal team arranged to mediate this case directly with the defendant's attorney approximately 6 1/2 weeks from our initial meeting. Within two weeks, I was paid a very handsome settlement for all I endured the past 3 years. I never believed this case would be brought to closure so quickly, efficiently, and effectively in my wildest dreams. Their service was impeccable, which thoroughly impressed me. Without a doubt, I highly recommend Ashley Starling to anyone in need of a brilliant personal injury attorney, along with her highly competent staff. They know their business, and the client is #1. Hired Law firm 2003-2021I have been involved with this law firm for over 15 years. I initially sought them out for a BWC claim that was denied. Kelly Willis represented me in 8-10 Industrial Commission Hearings and all were successful. In subsequent years the firm was successful in securing me SS disability benefits and finding me Physicians of Record when needed as well as providing me and my wife with Living Wills and Power of Attorney documents. I cannot thank them enough.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
