    Hired Attorney 2024
If you are looking for an incredible SSI disability attorney, then look no further as you won't find anyone better than Michael Bloom. You will not find a better, knowledgeable, professional or experienced SSI lawyer anywhere in my opinion. He is the best of the best in his field, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that my case would not have been won with any other attorney representing me due to the complexity. After retiring from law enforcement, I have testified in court more than 700 times and have met many, many attorneys; a lot of which I am still friends with. Not all attorneys are at the same level, and that goes for both defense attorney and SSI attorneys. I had consulted with a total of (3) SSI attorneys including Michael, and it was a no brainer to go with him. I can promise you that if your case is even 1% winnable, he will win it. That's how confident I was in his representation. A couple of quick things. DO NOT START THE APPLICATION PROCESS WITHOUT HIRING MICHAEL. I mention this because if you are like me, you figure that all of the medical evidence on your behalf would be a no brainer for approval. It does not work that way. By going through the process first without representation you really make Michael's job harder. I waited until the appeals process thinking to myself that there was no way I would be denied with the permanent disabling injuries I was facing. Furthermore, having written thousands of reports and navigating the court process in my job, I convinced myself that it would be stupid to hire an attorney and possibly lose some of the back pay money that comes with approval. That was a huge mistake. I believe if you go into the process with no arms and legs and are only a living torso, your claim would still be denied. The system is not in your favor. So, despite it being a long review I hope that you realize that there is no way you can successfully navigate this process without Michael in your corner. Michael came on board during my appeal process and there is ZERO CHANCE I would have one by myself or with another attorney representing me. That's the confidence I have him. Thank you Michael for being there for me and other people who find themselves in this stressful SSI disability process. Despite all the hardships I caused by trying to apply and go through the process on my own, Michael still won my case and I am forever grateful.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
