West Chester Criminal Defense/OVI/Traffic Lawyer
Overview
Jeff Meadows grew up in the Mason and West Chester area when both were essentially one-horse towns. Well maybe two horse towns for Jeff because his family had horses on their 5-acre mini farm in West Chester. While his parents were Lakota grads, Jeff ended up graduating from Mason High School in 1982 where he was the senior class president. He then headed off to Oxford where he had a very robust social experience - so robust that Miami U. asked him not to come back after 2 ½ years of fraternity fun.
Shortly after the fun ended at Miami (of Ohio), Jeff became a father, got married and started working for American Airlines where he continued to work while finishing his undergrad at Univ. of Cincinnati. With a bachelor's degree in hand, Jeff headed off to Miami, Florida to attend law school at The U, while working third shift at the baggage claim area for American Airlines at the Miami Intl. Airport. After finishing law school, Jeff came back to Ohio to begin his law career.
Having established himself as one of the top OVI defense lawyers in Ohio, Jeff focuses his practice in SW Ohio (Butler, Hamilton, Warren and Clermont Counties) and is regularly found fighting DUI's in a multiple counties a day. In total, Jeff has practiced OVI defense in 22 of Ohio's 88 counties, including, but not limited to Brown, Adams, Preble, Madison, Greene, Montgomery, Fayette, Highland and Athens counties.
Throughout his 25+ year career, Jeff has handled well over 3000 DUI cases and has taken more DUI cases to trial than other Ohio attorney (at least that's how he gets introduced when speaking at OACDL events).
Additionally, his love for continuing his education has led him to be one of SIX lawyers in Ohio recognized by the American Chemical Society as a Lawyer-Scientist and this has helped him in defending OVI cases that involve blood or urine testing as well as defendant drug possession/trafficking cases involving other substances such as methamphetamine, cocaine and various opioids.
When not fighting for his clients, Jeff's real passion is SCUBA diving and he loves diving with sharks and other apex predators which includes 9 species of sharks and Salt Water Crocodiles. So when it's time to fight in the courtroom, no other attorney around matches his fearless and bold personality.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
