Verified ClientHired Attorney 2022-2024When I was in a terrible spot in my life Stephen Otte was there to pick me up and walk me through all aspects of my divorce and custody battles. He has always been professional and realistic with my goals. I?ve felt involved and my thoughts taken seriously and respected by him. I have been fortunate enough to have In my corner for all my family law needs. Not only is he a great lawyer he has become a friend that I trust and care about.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2023Stephen was attentive and professional throughout my dissolution, and receptive to answering any question I had. I highly recommend Stephen to anyone that needs representation in a dissolution or divorce.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2021-2022Stephen is great at his job and just an all around good person. I just went through an ugly divorce as well as dealing with military injuries and Stephen was so patient and understanding. I was told by an acquaintance he is the best and they weren?t lying. I came out on top and even won more in the settlement than I expected. He was always available. When your lawyer calls you in the evening on a weekend I think that clearly means he isn?t slacking on the job. Thank you for everything Stephen!

Attorney Information
Overview
Stephen is a skilled family law attorney who prides himself in offering unparalleled representation and strategic advocacy for every client. Having devoted his practice exclusively to family law, Stephen instills confidence through his knowledge of the law and experience in the courtroom. He is recognized by his peers—including members of the judiciary—as having a singular commitment to his clients’ best interests and a devotion to professional excellence and integrity. Stephen approaches each case with diligence, responsiveness, and an emphasis on problem-solving. He strives to always exceed expectations and provide exceptional client experiences. As a hard-working attorney who practices throughout Butler, Hamilton, Warren, and Clermont counties, Stephen’s clients can trust that his advice is sound and that he will successfully guide them through all the uncertainties of their case, ranging from simple to extraordinarily complex matters. His practice extends across a wide range of areas from divorce/dissolution, post decree, child custody, child support, domestic violence civil protection orders, and family law appellate practice.
Stephen’s background has uniquely positioned him to excel in the practice of family law. He studied psychology and political science at Hanover College, a liberal arts institution in Indiana. There, he learned to be an analytical thinker and a dynamic problem-solver—attributes that he still exemplifies today. Upon graduating from Hanover with honors, he continued his education at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he served as the Senior Articles Editor of Law Review, the Vice President of the University of Cincinnati Mock Trial team and graduated with several distinctions. Stephen began practicing family law in 2018—a field where he has found his passion for assisting families and utilizing his strengths as an advocate. While at the Lampe Law Office, Stephen has been highly engaged with local bar associations and other organizations. He served as a Board member of the Hamilton County Juvenile Law Committee, coached high school mock trial, frequently volunteers for the Volunteer Lawyer’s Project, and is currently serving as a board member of a local non-profit.
When Stephen is not working, he enjoys spending time outdoors on his family farm in southeast Indiana or exploring the national parks with his wife, Suzi, and son, Levi.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
