Hired Attorney 2007

I would give zero stars if that were an option. Nearly 20 years ago, I was young, pregnant, scared, and vulnerable. During that time, I trusted Julie and her team to guide me through one of the most difficult decisions of my life. Instead, I left feeling misled, uninformed, and completely unsupported. I do not believe the consequences of a closed adoption were ever fully explained to me. I specifically requested an open adoption, yet the adoption ultimately became closed. I was devastated by the outcome and felt that I did not fully understand my rights or the long-term impact of the documents I was signing. What makes this even harder is that I had just given birth and was under the influence of pain medication when important decisions were being made. I was emotionally overwhelmed, frightened, and not in the best state of mind to navigate such a life-changing process. I was also told that my mother could not accompany me to court, which left me feeling even more isolated. To this day, I think about this experience every single day. The pain and regret have never gone away. Whether others have had different experiences or not, mine was deeply negative, and I believe prospective birth mothers deserve complete transparency, support, and a full understanding of their rights before making any decision. This experience changed my life forever, and I would not recommend this organization based on what I went through.
