Hired Attorney 2018-2019I want to take a few moments to praise Valerie Wright for her skilled professionalism and excellence as a defense attorney. Early this year I found myself in a very bizarre, unexpected, unwarranted situation. Even though I had truth on my side it became clear that may not be enough so I for sure wanted to have the best attorney deliver the facts to a judge. It was a scary situation that I did not deserve to be in! I found Valerie and her team to be incredibly thorough, efficient and effective. She analyzed the facts and put together ALL of the pieces of the puzzle. When I asked her assistant in jest if Valerie was the best, basically she implied ‘you have no idea!’ Wow, she was right! I had no idea, and when it went to trial I am forever thankful that I hired Valerie. You could not find a better protector in the court room. She is eloquent and dignified in her technique, approach and delivery. It was like watching a master Samurai wield the sharpest sword with crisp precision. A truly skilled professional! The truth was defended and we were victorious. Valerie passionately cares about defending the innocent and she is certainly someone you want on your side if you ever find yourself in the trenches. She cuts through the ambiguity and cloudiness that false claims and deceit cast upon truth then delivers light and clarity when the day seems so dark and gloomy! Valerie is one of my heroes in life and I can’t praise her enough!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
