Hired Attorney 2022-2023Horrible experience with Nicole Warren. I expressed concern to her in the beginning of the divorce process and she dismissed my concerns and seemed angry that I would even be worried about an impartial judge (first red flag, yet I continued to work with her). To her defense she did explain that the judge on the paperwork was not necessarily the judge that would be presiding over the court room. I felt that the entire time she was more on my ex’s side than mine, and that giving my ex what she wanted regardless of what was fair or just was Nicoles go to response (more red flags). Final straw and why in my opinion you should stay away from Nicole Warren is that I expressed concerns about my ex’s drinking problem getting worse and that she was now drinking and driving with our children in the car. My email “slipped through the cracks” and “If something is pressing or really concerning” I can call the office to set up an appointment. WOW drinking and driving with children in the car is apparently not really concerning to Nicole. *Please note that in my email to Nicole, I shared that her parents and sister are aware, and trying to help her. That her father had to take one of our daughters home and the drinking appears to be getting worse. * Yet it was not pressing or really concerning to Nicole Warren. When I expressed my disappointment, and desire to terminate our working relationship she seemed confused if I was still asking for her opinion. Nope! Save your $$ and work with someone who will fight for you.

Hired Attorney 2018Nicole represented me after I was injured in a car accident. She was kind, professional and got me a great settlement. I would reccomend her to any one in a similar situation.

Hired Attorney 2020-2021I never saw a billing statement until the end and it was just a receipt for time. It did not list any information to suggest what was done. I nor my son had much contact with Nicole and she was suppose to be representing him. She ask for but never took statements from witnesses or people who could have added relevant information. My son stopped turning to her for help and instead used his therapist to communicate his needs. After 11 months he and I were able to move, I do not know if or what she contributed to get that to happen..

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
