I reached out to Randy Harvey's office to get assistance with appealing an Unemployment Insurance denial. Despite the fact that the deadline for filing was in only two days, they submitted my appeal on time. The appeal was successful and I got my denial reversed. Thank you for great service.

I would highly recommend ELP to anyone seeking legal assistance with challenges at work or in need of representation before the Oregon State Board of Nursing. ELP staff were prompt in their communication. They immediately made me feel at ease and welcomed in their office. My attorney quickly took on my case and reduced my stress levels with his competency. The outcome they achieved was favorable.

Employment Law Professionals are simply the best when it comes to Employment Law in Oregon. Everyone on the team makes you feel welcome and will listen to your questions and concerns. I was represented by Andrew, and he did an outstanding job preparing my case from start to finish. His communication with me from the start was exceptional..I know I can be a hard person to communicate with! It was also very encouraging to have Randy sit in on our first strategy meeting. It made me feel like I finally had a team in my corner! Thank you again to everyone at Employment Law Professionals, your hard work and dedication helped me win my case!

I was able to consult with Randy Harvey about an upcoming small claims case. He was most helpful, providing information, guidance and encouragement. His knowledge and suggestions were spot on, leading me to a positive outcome. Thank you again Randy Harvey!!

I had a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to prepare for an unemployment hearing by the time I discovered and contacted Employment Law Professionals. I had an intake call with Randy J Harvey. He assigned Andrew Mittendorf to my case. After speaking with Randy, I felt weight lift off my shoulders. I could tell Randy and Andrew were experienced professionals and that they were doing everything they could to help me. I met with Andrew that Saturday and explained the circumstances of my past employment. He was easy to talk with and interested in everything I had to say. He explained the processes we would undergo and we developed a strategy. As it turned out, the hearing was postponed which gave him time to take more actions which ultimately led to the matter being resolved without having to go through a hearing. The precision and details of Andrew's typed documents was impressive and beyond anything I would be able to develop. During the whole process, the entire Employment Law Professionals team stayed on top of the situation as it developed, calling and emailing documents. Communication was outstanding. No time was wasted. I would recommend Employment Law Professionals 100 times over if I could. Randy Harvey and Andrew Mittendorf are excellent at their profession, really care about doing the right thing, and helping people in difficult situations.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
