Customer Reviews for The Law Office of David M. Mitchell, LLC

Consulted Law firm 2014-2022David Mitchell is an outstanding young attorney with a broadening practice. My wife and I have experienced business ownership and family legal issues and corporate legal issues alike, and have dealt with a great many attorneys over the years. We consider David our family attorney and have received good counsel on a number of issues from him. He is immediately friendly and attentive on the phone and is that rare attorney who is both able to benefit his client with a depth of legal scholarship, yet speak of the complexities of law in a manner comprehensible to those of us dependent on common language. My wife and I are pleased to recommend David Mitchell as an excellent West Linn/Portland, Oregon attorney for near all business and family circumstances, and one whom I would also trust initially with a criminal issue were one to arise, as I suspect David would first safeguard, then get his client to the right people. That he spent a number of years as first associate with well known and well regarded Dean Werst, and inevitably received Werst's blessing and client list, speaks volumes. McM - West Linn, OR

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
