I highly recommend hiring Slade Miller. He has gone above and beyond for us. We worked with Mr. Miller on two occasions, thus far and would not hesitate hiring him again and again, in the future. First, we had an issue that came up regarding an open mortgage during a closing on a home we were selling. The open mortgage was in the name of my parents who gifted us the home several years prior. Even though this open mortgage was not in our names, we were left responsible for the amount. Although our closing was able to occur at the time, it occurred minus the amount of this open mortgage ($76,500). When I contacted Mr. Miller to find out if he could assist us with a quiet title, he was extremely responsive. Mr. Miller explained every single scenario (including obstacles) that we could face, moving forward. However, Mr. Miller also let us know that he was confident that he could help us. We knew that the result could take awhile, but then COVID hit. Due to COVID, there were obstacles with the court hearing certain cases. That being said, Mr. Miller made sure that he kept us in the loop about where we were heading in terms of reaching a “finish line.” We thought we would not hear any news for quite some time; however, Mr. Miller acted quickly, even with the obstacles he ran into with the courts. To our surprise, Mr. Miller was able to successfully obtain a quiet title and in record time, during a pandemic. Needless to say, we had the $76,500 (amount initially withheld during closing) mailed to us soon after which was a huge relief! We hired Mr. Miller again after receiving notice from our local school board about an increase in our property taxes. Mr. Miller was very honest and let us know that we could fight this on our own in order to save money. I’m not sure how many attorneys would do that! However, we really trusted Mr. Miller based on our previous experience. After sending Mr. Miller all requested documents, he acted on our behalf during the assessment appeals hearing. Recently, we received a notice from the school board letting us know that they would be taxing us at a lower rate than initially ordered. Mr. Miller’s work during the hearing definitely worked out in our favor. Slade Miller is an honest, down to earth, talented, and hard-working attorney. Do yourself a favor and give Mr. Miller a call-you will not be sorry!
