I suffer from chronic panic attacks, so I don't understand things quickly, Maria is the best, she went out of her way to make me feel at ease and explained everything in Spanish to me in a very different way, she calmed me down like she has no idea how awesome she is. If you need them, hopefully not but if ever do ask for maria, she is the best explaining and making sure you're OK. Gracias Maria por todo. Que Dios te bendiga a ti y a tu familia. Att... I am not an attorney. I have far more experience with criminal law than anyone but an attorney should have. I have been represented by some of the best and on the other end of the spectrum I have represented myself. It is with this experience that I qualify myself to review Alex Egner. He is a staunch advocate for your defense. If you or someone you love has been charged with a crime, guilty or not, you have the opportunity to make some choices that will drastically change the outcome of your current predicament. I now offer you some advice that you need to hear: First off NEVER talk to the police. No matter what they are saying to you about whatever situation you have found yourself in, it cannot ever be in your best interest to say anything substantive to a police officer. I cannot emphasize this enough. I will repeat myself because I can not say this enough: do not talk to the police. How you do that is important. The ACLU and myself and any others with experience or knowledge in this will agree that you cannot improve your position by communicating with an officer of the law. My advice has always been to answer any question put to you with this simple, nondispositive, response, “is there anything else I can help you with?” It can be used to answer every question you are asked, it is polite, and it gives up no information. This is how you use your right to remain silent. This simple sentence has saved my life and saved the lives of people I love. Remember this, an officer will lie to you in every stage of the investigation, about anything and everything they say, and it will not impugn their credibility in court. If you should lie, even accidentally by misstating a fact or repeating something you believe to be true and it is not, you have just committed a crime and you likely will be punished for it grievously even if you have no prior criminal record. If you don’t believe me, look at Martha Stewart’s reason for going to prison for a year and being now branded an “ex-felon” for saying “no” when she should have said nothing. If this, now somewhat long winded, message reaches even one person and helps them avoid this trap designed into our criminal injustice system I will die a happy man. I also have some more advice, and this is just as important and for most of you reading this it is more important by far: you must avail yourself of the best legal advocate money can buy. If you are able to, and I suggest pulling out all stops to make this happen, hire the Pennsylvania lawyer Alexander Egner as soon as possible. Once you have done so, you can relax with the knowledge that you have done the utmost possible to secure your future as a free person, you will have a competent and vigorous advocate on your side that will do everything possible to ensure you are acquitted. If an acquittal is not possible then he will make sure you are given the shortest and lightest sentence possible given your situation. I’m sure it comes as no surprise to hear your future now will depend largely upon who you choose to fight for your future life. This is such an important position you are hiring for. Nothing less than your life depends on the actions, and strategic inactions, of the lawyer who will now stand beside you through this crucible you are in. I assure you, with every fiber of my being, that if I were unfortunate enough to find myself accused of a crime in Pennsylvania I would be calling upon Alexander Egner to defend me. I love my life more than anything. You should love your life equally as much. You must get this man to help you if you can. Your life actually depends on it. This is an honest endorsement that I give, unsolicited and uncompensated, in the interest of truth and justice. Good luck to you

I am the owner of a small business and I went to Chieppor & Enger for help and not only did they address my issues they also answered ALL of my questions! I was VERY pleased with the staff and found them to be both professional and friendly. I am going to continue to use them for personal issues as well and will be scheduling with them to redo my will which is over 20 years old and in need of updating! I have the utmost confidence in these folks and have no problem giving my full recommendation to family and friends as welll!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
