If you want a lawyer that sounds good at first, makes you feel like you have hope and then has you sign a contract, pay the money and then wait …. And after filing several extensions and getting notices from the court to file forms, you do most of the work for the submission, providing cases that pertain and trying to get him to follow up with witnesses (which he only does not complete) then the motion is submitted without your review and isn’t what you wanted. Then when questioned about it or about understanding the progress of your case with updates and concerns not answered you get but with a few words like "It's ok”, “No nothing yet” or “, “ not sure” . You also are spending money which you had to take out a loan for and your attorney speaks to his client by phone (never in person ) only twice the entire process. As a wife you constantly email or text him with responses often a month later which is extremely stressful on you because of the apparent lack of concern and poor communication to you and your husband as paying clients. Then you find out you lose but he doesn’t tell you, you read it and when questioned, he tells you he doesn’t care that you’re upset or what you expect, he’s tired of you and dropping your husband’s case over a text message then TODD MOSSER is the attorney for you! He is horrible at communication and drops the ball during the process of your case and then lets you go- so unprofessional- wouldn’t trust him with anything. Be careful he’s very slick and good in the beginning- talks the talk real good but doesn’t even know how to take baby steps when walking the walk- One of the worst feelings you can have is your hope being pumped up and then slowly deflated over months due to a lack of communication and updates while inside you’re hoping it’s all ok. Believe he is a dishonest person trying to make a buck, actually a lot of bucks for as little service as possible. WARNING: BE VERY CAUTIOUS OF DEALING WITH THIS GUY!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
