    Hired Law firm 2024-2026
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this firm was extremely disappointing. I hired the firm after I was rear-ended in a motor vehicle accident where the other driver's insurance accepted 100% liability. I followed all medical recommendations, including going to the ER, getting an MRI, and completing physical therapy. Throughout my case, I was never kept informed about what was happening or where things stood. After my treatment ended, I emailed the office requesting a status update. When I didn't receive a response, I called the following day. That's when I was shocked to learn from the receptionist that the firm no longer represented me and had supposedly mailed me a letter. That was the first time I had heard anything about them withdrawing from my case. Before that, I had a conversation with the attorney that I found extremely unprofessional. He repeatedly interrupted me, made assumptions before I had finished speaking, and told me my case was a "soft tissue case" with "not much money in it" because I wasn't willing to continue treatment beyond what my medical providers had recommended. I understand that attorneys have the right to decide which cases they take. My issue is with the lack of communication, being left completely out of the loop for months, and the way I was treated as a client. I expected professionalism, honesty, and respect, and unfortunately, that was not my experience. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this firm. If you're looking for a law firm to represent you, I would encourage you to look elsewhere. Communication, professionalism, and respect for clients are essential, and unfortunately, I did not receive those during my time with this firm.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
