Overview

Fighting For The Rights Of Individuals And Businesses In Philadelphia Since 1961

At Abramson & Denenberg, P.C., in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, we have provided aggressive legal representation to individuals, families and businesses since 1961. We are proud of our reputation for high-quality legal services, allowing us to stay in business in Philly for over 50 years.

Today, our family-owned law firm is headed by brothers Alan and David Denenberg, who primarily practice police brutality law and commercial collections. We fight for the rights of victims of police misconduct and abuse, and we protect the ability of lawyers, medical providers, business owners and individuals to collect unpaid judgments and money owed to them. Additionally, we offer experienced and skilled legal counsel in matters of criminal defense, personal injury, workers' compensation and landlord-tenant disputes.

Our Police Brutality Practice

There are many good police officers in Philly, but there are also some bad ones. Police have no right to abuse their authority and mistreat the citizens of Philadelphia. When people are harmed because of unlawful arrests, mistaken identity, excessive force, malicious prosecution, poor treatment in prison and other egregious types of misconduct, we stand up for them.

We handle police brutality cases on contingency, meaning there is no fee unless we win a verdict or negotiate a settlement for you.

Our Collections Of Unpaid Judgments Practice

We provide strategic legal counsel and representation to physicians, medical providers, lawyers, landlords and others who are struggling to enforce judgments or collect bills. We offer highly skilled and cost-effective debt collection and asset location services. We do not charge anything for collections work until we recover money for you or your clients.

We absolutely enjoyed having Renae as our lawyer. She was professional, articulate and knowledgeable. She was available to us and if she wasn’t she always got right back to us. She negotiated a fair settlement and we were very pleased. We certainly hope that we won’t need her service again, but if we do- we’d definitely use her again.

Your Profile?  Update Now

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
