Samir Sarna - Pittsburgh, PA

My name is Samir Sarna, and I am a partner at Worgul Law Firm. I moved to Pittsburgh in 2007 to attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While in Pittsburgh, I met my wife, fell in love with the city, and decided to settle down here and dedicate my legal career to defending the rights of those accused of committing crimes. After graduating law school, I clerked at the Office of the Public Defender for Allegheny County and later became an Associate Counsel at the Allegheny County Office of Conflict Counsel. Serving at these offices allowed me opportunity to handle hundreds of serious felony cases in a few years, gain a true understanding of the operation of the criminal court system in Allegheny County, and most importantly, gain valuable trial experience.

I left Conflict Counsel after being hired as an associate at a high-volume criminal defense practice in Pittsburgh. While at the firm, I handled cases ranging from minor summary offenses to serious felony 1 cases, in various counties throughout Western Pennsylvania, including Washington, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Mercer, Westmoreland, and Cambria, to name a few. I also had opportunity to gain experience in federal court at the United States District Court for Western Pennsylvania.

While I enjoyed my time at my former law firm, I went to law school with the goal of becoming a partner at a downtown law firm and that is why I decided to team up with Michael Worgul and Worgul Law Firm, LLC, in 2014. Mike and I are dedicated to providing aggressive, well-prepared, and diligent criminal defense throughout the various counties of Western Pennsylvania.

Since passing the Pennsylvania Bar in 2010, I have handled hundreds of criminal cases, including juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony cases covering DUI, violent crimes, sex crimes, drug crimes, and crimes against property. I'm also an experienced litigator who has successfully taken over 20 jury and bench trials to verdict, and I have successfully briefed and argued criminal appeals before the Superior Court.

When I'm not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife, traveling, and playing golf. Like Mike, my wife is also an attorney, and she currently serves as a federal law clerk at the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
