5.0 out of 5 stars

I recommend Carol Adelstein as a most stellar and extremely competent attorney. She has handled my post - decree challenges for the past two years. Her knowledge and understanding of family law coincides with her strength and finesse in legal representation as well as her personal character and integrity. Carol?s demeanor is always professional. She commands respect from opposing counsel, presiding judges and courtroom staff. She has unraveled most of the problems initiated from my previous representation by providing options that resulted in positive outcomes for me. Carol always provides timely updates on filings, case documents and invoices. Her billing is logical, straightforward and transparent. Carol is an attorney I refer because she is someone who always reflects your values and represents your financial interests at all times.

Attorney Carol Adelstein represented my interests during a complicated divorce. Throughout the process she provided all the details necessary to my making decisions that would lead to a fair & satisfactory outcome. At no time did I feel I was alone with her quick responses and attention to detail. I recommend her to anyone seeking divorce representation.

Divorce was the most painful event I've ever experienced. We both envisioned our lives unfolding much differently and the emotional disappointment it caused to everyone we love; children, families and friends, was nearly unbearable. Attorney Carol Adelstein was sensitive to the needs of all parties and counseled me towards a resolution that helped to diffuse contention and conflict, and that was also equitable. In my opinion, her approach to my well-being as well as needs of my family helped us to begin the healing process with a better defined pathway than we could ever have come to on our own. I am lucky to have been referred to her by a friend.

Carol has been an outstanding attorney to work with through my divorce. She is compassionate, attentive, and through. She has been extremely flexible to meet my needs of my busy schedule. This includes talking/ meeting on nights and weekends. She has an extensive understanding the law that is apparent in the courtroom. She is an excellent advocate for me during a time when I need someone the most. I would definitely recommend Carol to someone that is looking for a well-prepared, fair-priced attorney.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
