After graduation, Rainey was invited to join the University of Florida Chapter of The Order of the Coif based on his academic achievements in law school.
Throughout his professional career, Rainey has advocated for clients in Florida trial courts, Florida appellate courts, federal bankruptcy courts in both Florida and Texas, federal trial court, and federal appellate court. These cases have ranged in subject matters from state law personal injury claims arising from long term care abuse and neglect, to receiverships, to foreclosures, and even to complex bankruptcy disputes.
