Bill grew up in Athens, Georgia and attended public schools there, graduating from ClarkeCentralHigh School in 1982. He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia, earning a B.A., summa cum laude, with a double major in History and Political Science in 1986 and a J.D. in 1989. After law school, he gained experience in civil litigation while working as an associate at a law firm in metro Atlanta, and also earned a M.Div.degree, cum laude, from EmoryUniversity in 1992.

Since 1993, Bill has practiced law in the areas of civil and criminal litigation, domestic relations, real estate, and wills and probate, and he successfully tried numerous jury trials while serving as an Assistant District Attorney in the Toombs Judicial Circuit.

Bill cares about his clients and is committed to achieving the best possible result for them. He believes in honest and direct communication while providing top-notch, thorough, and effective legal representation.

Bill is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Western Circuit Bar Association, and is a past president of the Toombs Circuit Bar Association. He is a licensed mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution in both general civil mediation and domestic relations mediation. He believes in service of others, and has held leadership positions in his church and community organizations, including the Rotary Club of Oconee County. His wife, Allison, is a member of the University of Georgia Law School faculty, and they have two daughters, Emmeline and Isabelle.
