Ellene Welsh was very great with my case. She put me at ease and I had total confidence she would do the best job for me. I will definitely recommend her services. The staff was great with answering my questions.

Ellene really knows what she's doing! I actually had originally hired another firm to help with my social security disability application. Years passed. I wish I had known about Ellene. Once she took over my case, I didn't have to worry about anything heading into my hearing, and that really meant a lot. I received a fully favorable decision, and I don't believe I would have without Ellene Welsh's absolutely expert representation.

Ellene is one of the best social security attorneys in Georgia. I refer my clients to her on a regular basis.

I am lucky to have been able to have Ellene as my attorney. She worked hard to get everything together for my case and was very well prepared for going to the hearing. She stepped up for me when I wasn't able to. She kept me informed about what would happen as things progressed. If the time arose for me to need an attorney again, I will absolutely call Ellene Welsh again.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
