Hired Law firm 2015-2022"In the summer of 2015 my mother was killed by a nursing home while she was recovering from a brain infection. I originally went to a local attorney in the town where I lived but that attorney suggested I turn the case over to PMHP, LLC. Mike and Bill came to my town to see me and I signed on with their firm. For the remainder of the time I worked predominantly with Mike but other attorneys in the firm were working in the background. I didn't realize exactly all they had done until I received the final accounting of the settlement with a full accounting of their expenses. Although I really wanted to go to trial, as it neared the trial date, it became clear that due to some of the particulars of the case, it made more sense to settle out of court. I think we would have been awarded a larger settlement from a jury but being awarded and collecting are two different things. Although Mike always said that how we proceeded was up to me, he gave me the facts and guided me in the right direction for my case. I f you ever need an attorney for personal injury to represent you, I highly recommend PMHP LLC. "

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
