After being T-boned at an intersection by another driver, I was lost and at my wits end trying to find a doctor who, in the knowledge of the fact that my injuries were related to a car accident, would even give me the time of day. It was the eve of the COVID-19 Pandemic and for several reasons, I felt like my quality of life was being compromised at the hands of an irresponsible driver; my subsequent pain was being overlooked just because I didn?t show immediate signs of serious injury. As my symptoms progressed, I knew I needed help and guidance from someone who had the knowledge and experience to help me to navigate this unique scenario, help me understand my rights, and give me earnest, realistic expectations. I decided to seek the counsel of an attorney. I found that in Paul Wickes. From the first conversation, Atty Wickes articulated the compassion no one else had shown; not my own doctors, not even the person who hit me. He took the time to listen to me and to explain and guide me through the proper steps to be taken under the circumstances. He was professional, communicative, and assertive in my defense. I felt supported and encouraged throughout the process. He was both dedicated and determined and he persevered, even through the Pandemic, until we reached a reasonable and favorable outcome. If you need clear, concise, honest legal advice, from someone with experientially solid knowledge, who can achieve effective results and won?t drop you because the case is not "high profile," enough, then Wickes Law is the place to go!!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
