Peter L. Rand - Islandia, NY

I truly cannot say anything worse about this man. He steals money from clients. He never returns phone calls or emails. He actually writes "memos" to the other attorney but they are never sent. I will beg you to stay away and to save your money from literally being stolen. Just google about the money he stole from an elderly client.

If you want an attorney who won’t return your phone calls, won’t file paperwork on time and shows up an hour and a half late for your trial then Peter Rand is your man. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and find yourself a real attorney. This one is absolutely terrible.

Do yourself a favor and do not hire Peter Rand! Might as well flushed $5,000 down the toilet. Works against you instead of for you. My soon to be ex husband and his lawyer had HUGE smiles on there face leaving court and I left crying. I would have done better representing myself. The only thing I can do at this point is save someone else from the same mistake- stay away from this man!

I was referred to Mr. Rand by a friend who had used him for their divorce. Without doing any research, I spoke with Mr. Rand about issues with my own divorce contract & monies owed to my children. Mr. Rand said this was a cut & dry slam dunk & would proceed quickly and painlessly. I handed over a full retainer and shook his hand. This turned out to be the worst mistake of my life. 6 months have gone by and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get Mr. Rand on the phone. I personally handed him two hard copies of my divorce contract with the sections pertaining to child support as well as a digital PDF on a flash drive that can also be accessed by the cloud/dropbox or emailed to his associates at ANY TIME. Since we first spoke, I believe I have had maybe 5 minutes of phone conversation with Mr. Rand. Stopping by his office or waiting outside for him to appear is pointless as well. Very simply put, he was to obtain a court date, we were going to appear with the evidence & the judge was going to make the decision. Even my Ex was willing to go to court with us as we both agreed that the judge's decision would be final. We literally have NO problems..... EXCEPT for Mr. Rand. Due to the fact that I haven't been able to reach Mr. Rand, I had no choice but to consult a couple of attorneys to explore my legal options. They feel strongly that Mr. Rand's actions (or lack thereof) constitute breach of contract, malpractice and possibly fraud. They have searched through multiple reviews about this "man" and have found COUNTLESS depictions of his lack of service. Taking this all into account, I have filed a complaint with the Suffolk County Bar Association and I encourage ANYONE else who has been wronged by Mr. Rand to do the same. I certainly learned my lesson by not researching him first. Don't male the same mistake.
