Hired Law firm 2022This place was absolutely horrible and unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. We were recommended to these clowns by Talina Crosby John's at Coldwell Banker. She claimed that Krista Nicole Farley was the best closing attorney around and gets stuff done. Needless to say, Krista was not the attorney she was only the paper pusher. She would answer emails but I as the seller had to do all the leg work to even get to the closing. It was an absolute disaster. Once the final numbers came through, Talina, our realtor, didn't submit the contracts the way she was supposed to in regards to her commission. Let's add that they sent the closing numbers 10 mins until closing and I was strong armed by the staff and threatened it would be weeks before another opportunity to close if I disputed any of the numbers. We decided to go ahead move forward with closing the next day. Before we were scheduled to be there the actual attorney Eric Kempson called me hollering and talking down to me as if I was a child trying to figure out what type of deal the realtor and I made the night before about her commissions. He was belligerent and talking so loudly that my fiance got involved where he told him that it was none of his business what deals were made. When we walked into the office we were greeted by Krista who nearly yanked my arm out of socket along with squeezing my hand so hard you could hear the bones crunching together. She did the same to my fiance and due to him not expecting such it caused his arm to get slammed into the receptionists desk. Once we got back to the table for closing, Eric Kempson (attorney) began forcefully hollering again asking me about the deal made with the realtor. My finance asked him if he spoke to his wife like this, of course he didn't respond. As my finance was reading over a document before I singed it, Kemspon snatched the paper and put it in front of me. My finance then told him he was a clown to which he agreed and said so are you. Mind you during this whole ordeal I asked numerous times for him to stop yelling that I was only an arms length away from him. This was the most embarrassing and awful process I have ever had to deal with and as of 12.28.22 we are contemplating on taking legal action against Weeks & Irvine @ 810 North Main St, Summerville SC. Please please do yourself and or company a favor and steer clear of this place. If you must use them, request that Eric Kemspon not be the attorney used as he clearly has no respect for women.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
