Overview
I am Tucker James Volesky, an attorney dedicated to serving individuals and families across South Dakota from my firm, Tucker James Volesky, Attorney at Law, in Huron, South Dakota. My practice focuses on criminal defense, personal injury and civil litigation, allowing me to represent clients facing some of the most difficult moments in their lives. Whether someone is navigating a criminal charge, dealing with the aftermath of an accident or addressing a complex family law matter, I am committed to providing straightforward guidance and determined advocacy.
I earned my law degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law in Vermillion and was admitted to the State Bar of South Dakota. Since then, I have expanded my ability to represent clients in multiple courts, including the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. These admissions allow me to handle matters in both state and federal courts while protecting my clients’ rights at every stage of the legal process.
From my Huron office, I work with clients on a wide range of legal matters, including criminal defense cases such as DUI/DWI charges, assault allegations and other serious offenses. I also represent individuals in personal injury claims involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability and other incidents caused by negligence. In addition, I assist clients with family law matters such as divorce, helping them navigate challenging transitions with clarity and care.
Beyond private practice, I also serve my community as the city attorney for Huron and as the first associate judge of the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate. These roles reflect my deep commitment to public service and the legal profession.
My goal is always the same: to provide thoughtful legal counsel and strong representation for the people who place their trust in me. From Huron, I proudly serve clients throughout South Dakota, including Sioux Falls, Brookings, Watertown, Madison, Miller and Redfield.
