Customer Reviews for Griese Law Firm, P.C.
-
Hired Law firm 2026I had retained Nicole Griese to defend me in a criminal case. Prior to this decision, I had been placed with two public defenders I won’t disclose, but both of whom had mistreated me horribly without any care for my side of the matter; they had been pushing me to take charges that were, by definition of the SD Unified code, definitely wrongfully placed against me. Once I was finally able to retain her, Nicole Griese was a godsend! She was very firm, reassuring, educative and unbelievably kind! Dealing with every unprofessional, unorganized, unresponsive, moment from the prosecutors that kept continuing the hearing for over a year, Nicole never missed a deadline for proper legal procedure; she was always responsive in a reasonable time frame; she acted in the highest level of professionalism; she kept the pressure on the prosecutors and reassured me of her course of action every step of the way, which ultimately allowed her to win my case quickly. There were times where if Nicole was unavailable, another attorney at the Firm had followed up with me with the same professionalism and care for my needs. I’m unbelievably grateful for this firm of strong women; Griese law firm is my go to.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
