Digby Family Law, PLC
Brentwood Divorce Lawyer
Overview
After receiving her Juris Doctorate from Vanderbilt University Law School, Sarah chose to pursue her passion for the practice of family law due to her genuine concern for those needing representation during what can often be the most stressful and emotional periods of their lives.
Sarah’s dedication to her clients is demonstrated by her numerous awards and recognitions. For four years in a row, the American Institute Of Family Law Attorneys has named Sarah as one of the “Ten Best Attorneys For Client Satisfaction” in Tennessee. In 2015, the National Association of Family Law Attorneys named Sarah a nationally-ranked, “Top 10 Under 40.” In 2016 through 2020, Sarah was named a “Rising Star” by the Mid-South Super Lawyers. In 2017, the American Society of Legal Advocates named her one of the “Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 in the State of Tennessee.” In 2017 the American Jurist Institute named Sarah one of the Top 10 Family Law Attorneys in Tennessee.
Sarah is very comfortable in the courtroom and is an experienced litigator. However, she also realizes that many of her clients have never before had to deal with legal issues and may be confused or overwhelmed by the court system. Sarah takes the time to explain each step of a legal issue, and she values ongoing communication with her clients. Additionally, while she is happy to be an aggressive advocate for her clients in court, she also understands the importance of alternative dispute resolution and mediation - especially in custody matters where the parties will need to be able to effectively co-parent for years to come.
Sarah’s undergraduate degree in Psychology, past work in a domestic violence legal clinic, and work in the Sex Crimes and Child Abuse division of the Indianapolis Prosecutor’s Office, have given her a unique insight into some of the more delicate issues related to family law matters. Because of this background, Sarah strives to be a zealous advocate for her clients while at the same time building relationships focused upon individual needs.
Over the years, Sarah has built a team of like-minded attorneys to create a collaborative firm that specializes solely in family law matters. The team at Digby Family Law, PLC specifically focuses on issues such as divorce, child support, custody, father's rights, adoption, grandparent visitation, cohabitation agreements, prenuptial agreements, alimony, and guardianships.
