Attorney Information

Overview

Jeremy Parham, a Manchester native and 1995 graduate of Coffee County Central High School, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Middle Tennessee State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee Knoxville.

After receiving his law degree, Jeremy began his career representing clients’ interests in Middle Tennessee through his work as Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer at Independence Trust Company in Franklin. Following his work with ITC, Jeremy worked as an associate with the litigation section of the law firm of King and Ballow in Nashville, specializing in employment, intellectual property, and corporate law.

Jeremy has grown a successful private practice in Nashville, beginning in 2005, and opened a second office in Manchester in 2010, while continuing to serve all of Middle Tennessee. His practice now focuses on family law and criminal defense, while also representing clients in a wide variety of civil litigation matters.

“I entered private practice in 2005 to bring quality and affordable representation to clients throughout middle Tennessee,” says Parham. “It has always been our goal to tailor our approach to each client’s specific needs, to provide the best possible representation. We respect and value our clients’ unique circumstances and are dedicated to providing personalized services. This is the philosophy behind our motto: Traditional Values, Innovative Approach.”

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
