    Hired Law firm 2015-2016
I would not recommend this law firm. I paid a $15,000.00 retainer. Alfonso Kennard overstated what he could accomplish during my case and delivered nothing. His associates were rude. They would not allow me to review documents prior to being sent out. As a result, they had to send corrected information on several occasions. Kennard also tried to enter into settlement negotiations without my knowledge consent. I fired him after a few months. He refused to return unearned retainer. Ignored requests for arbitration. Kennard was found guilty of DWI in Harris County 2018. He was released from probation in 2019. I honestly believe this man has a problem with alcohol and as a result he is deceitful. The public should be made aware of and protected from Alfonso Kennard.

paid Alfonso Kennard $6,000.00 to handle my wrongful termination case. He and his associates, did a poor job in my opinion. I always had to call them. Four different attoneys on case being this firm have A high employee turnover rate, had to repeat my case to new attoney over and over which was very frustrating. I had to remind them of deadlines. I would usually speak to the case manager/paralegal. When I would finally be allowed to speak to one of them they would offer apologies and tell me what I wanted to hear. Then it would be a long waiting game again. Followed by reminding them of deadlines. Save your money.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
