Hired Law firm 2025⚠️ SMITH & VINSON LAW FIRM: THE TRUTH THEY KEEP DELETING ⚠️ Posted by Hisham Elbanhawy – Former Client This law firm left me high and dry in the middle of a legal emergency — and now they’re actively trying to erase my experience from the internet. Let’s be blunt: Smith & Vinson Law Firm (Austin, TX) is a ruthless legal mill focused on reputation management — not actual law. Once they take your money, you’re disposable. If you speak out, they hide behind lawyers and content takedowns. I missed one court date due to a documented emergency. Instead of helping, they filed a motion to withdraw from my case without calling, emailing, texting, or giving me any notice. They didn’t even ask what happened. That’s how little you matter once you pay. And when I tried to warn others by posting factual, fully documented reviews? They were deleted from Avvo, Yelp, and other platforms within hours. I followed every rule. I rewrote my posts. Still gone. Why? Because Smith & Vinson actively suppress negative feedback. That spotless reputation? It’s a façade — built by silencing people like me. Their entire online image is curated like a TikTok influencer, not earned like a real law firm. They use flagging, moderation loopholes, and legal threats to purge bad reviews and gaslight former clients. Even worse? I saw reviews from other clients — like Joshua Jerome Scott, who paid $9,500 and exposed racial bias in Hays County — get scrubbed too. It’s a pattern. If you’re not rich, white, or silent, you’re disposable to this firm. And if you speak, they’ll try to bury your words. I have receipts. Emails. Messages. Billing records. Court filings. If you’re reading this, don’t let the polished website fool you. Ask yourself why every honest review vanishes. They don’t want transparency — they want control. DO NOT TRUST THIS FIRM.

Hired Law firm 2019-2022I was falsely accused of assault during a child custody case. The false allegations led to me being arrested. I contacted Smith and Vinson Law and met with both Brad and Jarrod. From the beginning, I was impressed. They believed me, they worked hard to gather all the evidence needed to clear me of the wrong doing, and fought the court endlessly. The charges were eventually dismissed. After a couple years, I reached out again to expunge my record. Jarrod and Elise both fought the court’s delays and were able to secure the expunction. While I hope I never have to deal with Smith and Vinson Law, if I ever got in a situation where I did need them, they will be the first people I call. I strongly recommend them to anyone who wants to win their case.

Hired Law firm 2021-2022Payal and Brad are tremendous attorneys. They were aggressive, and fierce and did not stop fighting for my case until we got a dismissal. Switched over from another attorney's office and couldn't have made a better decision!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
