We subsequently learned she’d also need to apply for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. Both processes were lengthy, complex, arduous and required multiple levels of appeals to ultimately be awarded the benefits to which we believed she was rightfully entitled based on her adverse health developments.
