Verified ClientHired Law firm 2016-2023When I needed legal representation for my divorce, Ehren didn't just secure a resounding victory in court, he also kept me informed and calmed me through a process that threatened to turn my life upside down. Ehren is an excellent attorney, but he is also an excellent human being who connects with his clients and provides a reassuring presence through tumultuous times. I don't know what I would done without him and I'm confidently continuing to use him as new needs for me and my son arise.

Verified ClientHired Attorney Ehren Stuart Ezzell 2019-2024Truth, trust, honesty & acceptance….These few words are absolutely imperative to have in family law cases. I found/felt/discovered, all of these, with Ehren Ezzell, beginning with our first consultation! I did meet with other attorneys before talking with Ehren. He put me at ease right away, which is so important when it has to do with your children. Ehren not only listened to every word I spoke, he was able to share insight from his vast experience in family law. Ehren was able to explain to me how the law in Texas works. He calmed my concerns about my rights as a father! No other attorney did this, their focus was ’seemingly’ elsewhere… not with Ehren! I hired him and he went to work… then the sparks did fly. He navigated attacks from the opposing counsel and fought for not only my rights, but to protect my children's needs. This was 6 years ago… Ehren, to this date, is still by my side. If it were not for Ehren, I would not stand a chance in regaining primary custody of my children. There are lawyers that are good, those that are smart, and those who know and abide by Texas State Law. Ehren is of the very few that possess, exhibits, and lives by all of these creeds. I would not be who I am today, if it were not for Ehren.“

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
