Hired Attorney 2013-2023I hired Tom in 2013/2014 for a drug felony where the evidence was not on my side. It was in montage county but he took the case. The DA in montage wanted to give me 5 years TDC because I was in tdc for 17 months 2 years before and just finished parole even though I was arrested on parole. Tom ended up getting it dows to 3 years probation. He is very good, I had a misdemeanor in 2020 that was in Dallas and he got me time served when I only spent 17 hours in city jail. Yes he missed on court date due to trail but he always called me back and answered All my questions. He was very honest with me and let me know I could either chose probation or 10 days in county. Asked which one I wanted. He ended up getting time served. Now I have another damn charge which will be my 3rd felony and we will hire him again. Only lawyer that really knows what he is getting into. Prices are good as well. I would recommend Tom to anyone and the bondsman with my last charge told me if he got in trouble Tom would be who he would want. He really is a terrific lawyer and a good person to have your best interests in hand. He may not have called me back maybe 2/3 times but would call when he could. Very happy with him and know who I will always hire when I am in trouble. Very recommended and really cares about you as a client. Best lawyer I have ever had.

Hired Attorney 2013Sex offense case which is always tough. Filed a motion laying out how Judge Burns had not followed the law and got the Judge to acknowledge in a ruling that what he did was "statutorily unsupported" ultimately resulting in a dismissal of the case. Pretty good legal strategist holding the court and prosecution to the legal bounds of the law.

Hired Attorney 2013Sex offense case which is really difficult. Great representation resulting in a motion explaining how Judge Burns violated the law and the judge making a ruling that what he did was "statutorily unsupported" ultimately resulting in dismissal of the case. Quite a legal strategist.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
