Hired Attorney 2019-2025I hired the Ben Martin Law Group to represent me in my lawsuit and Mr. Martin was amazing. Everyone I dealt with at the firm was friendly, professional and I felt very supported through the entire process. I would highly recommend this law firm and Mr Ben Martin and his team of lawyers.

Hired Attorney 2024These attorneys did not represent me accurately in a mesh product liability case. The saw "Infection." and told me I did not qualify. I was not allowed to state the persistent pelvic pain, nerve damage, and bleeding related to mesh complications. My questions were ignored or responded with flippant answers. They spent very little time reviewing the surgeon's notes and MRI to validate the need for a second surgery removal of mesh and serious complications not related to common infection. They displayed no concern, and gave me no information of when the hearing was or their procedures. They gave me the wrong information of the Medicare reimbursement process. They delayed answering me, if they answered me at all. If what you have is not a million-dollar case, then don't hire this firm.

Hired Attorney 2010-2021This Firm has been so difficult lately, only person that I been able to get in touch with is the Paralegal who’s very nice and she knows how to explain things to me. My Lawyer or the Law Team doesn’t seem to care , even when I asked for a call back or leave messages to return my calls to get an update on my case, they don’t respond. I also noticed that I believe that they are avoiding me. I better report this to the TEXAS BAR ASSOCIATION, Maybe then I have to say something about them to get answers or questions that way. I don’t understand why they don’t communicate anymore, it’s not fair that they will receive compensation from my case if and when the Judge makes his decision on my IVC FILTER implant malfunction. And The worst thing about this situation is they’ve had several people leave them in the years I’ve been a client and that I’m not informed about anything, why do they loose their staff so much??? Are they a good firm or do they have a problem keeping people on board, makes me feel like they are not doing so well, I need help and notice that they don’t care, expect the paralegal Ms. E. Johnson, she’s been Great. Also the address here on this page is incorrect.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
