Overview

Christina King is a Dallas criminal defense lawyer and Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys, where she represents individuals facing misdemeanor and felony criminal charges throughout Texas. With more than a decade of criminal defense experience and more than 6,000 cases litigated, Ms. King has built a reputation as a skilled courtroom advocate known for her thorough case preparation, strategic defense planning, and unwavering commitment to protecting her clients' rights.

Fluent in Spanish, Ms. King regularly works with clients from diverse backgrounds and is committed to ensuring every client understands the legal process and has a meaningful voice in their defense. Her ability to communicate effectively with both English- and Spanish-speaking clients allows her to provide personalized representation during some of the most challenging moments in their lives.

Before joining Michael & Associates, Ms. King spent 11 years as a public defender in Dallas, representing indigent clients accused of a wide range of criminal offenses. During her tenure, she handled thousands of criminal matters, developed trial strategies, conducted investigations, negotiated with prosecutors, and advocated for clients at every stage of the criminal justice process. Her extensive public defender experience provided firsthand insight into the challenges individuals face when confronting the power of the criminal justice system.

Over the course of her career, Ms. King has litigated more than 6,000 cases ranging from municipal offenses and misdemeanors to serious felony prosecutions, including homicide and capital murder cases. This broad experience has given her extensive familiarity with criminal investigations, evidentiary challenges, constitutional issues, forensic evidence, and complex trial litigation. She is known for carefully analyzing the state's evidence, identifying weaknesses in criminal allegations, and developing persuasive defense strategies tailored to each client's circumstances.

In addition to her criminal defense practice, Ms. King has handled both criminal and civil matters throughout North and Central Texas. This experience has strengthened her understanding of litigation strategy, procedural rules, evidentiary standards, and courtroom advocacy across multiple areas of law.

Ms. King earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center. During law school, she was an active member of the mock trial team throughout all three years of her legal education, developing the courtroom and advocacy skills that continue to serve her clients today. She also completed internships with the Harris County District Attorney's Office and the Mexican Consulate in Houston, experiences that helped shape her commitment to justice, public service, and advocacy for Spanish-speaking communities.

Beyond the courtroom, Ms. King has contributed to legal scholarship and criminal justice reform efforts. She authored an essay on eyewitness identification for the book American Justice in the Age of Innocence: Understanding the Causes of Wrongful Convictions and How to Prevent Them. Her work examined the reliability of eyewitness testimony and the role that identification errors can play in wrongful convictions, reflecting her ongoing interest in forensic reliability, due process, and the pursuit of justice.

Clients and colleagues alike recognize Ms. King for her tenacity, professionalism, and dedication to client advocacy. Her combination of trial experience, investigative skill, legal scholarship, and compassionate client service has established her as a trusted criminal defense attorney throughout Texas.

Today, Ms. King continues to defend individuals accused of criminal offenses as a Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates. Drawing on more than a decade of criminal defense experience and extensive courtroom advocacy in both misdemeanor and felony matters, she provides strategic, knowledgeable, and client-focused representation for individuals facing life-changing criminal charges.
