Grace E. Shin is a Dallas criminal appeals attorney and former appellate prosecutor with 22 years of experience in the Appellate Division of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. She has handled complex criminal appeals, written more than 200 appellate briefs, and argued cases before the Dallas Court of Appeals and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Today, she uses that experience to help individuals appeal their convictions and explore other post-conviction relief.
In 2026, Grace co-founded Illich & Shin, PLLC, a Dallas-based criminal appellate law firm, with Niles Illich.

Grace’s prosecutorial background and Niles Illich’s experience in criminal defense give the firm insight into both sides of the criminal justice system. Together, they evaluate trial records, identify potential appellate issues, and develop strategies for challenging convictions.
