Attorney Information

Overview

Associate attorney Victoria Jones credits her parents as strong role models for accountability and rule of law. Her upbringing imbued her with strong convictions to justice and a strong moral compass. She attended Baylor University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in political science; thereafter, she obtained from Texas A&M Commerce her Master of Science degree in Psychology, having focused her coursework on developmental psychology. A juris doctorate from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law rounds out Victoria’s diverse, impressive academic background.

Victoria cultivated a passion for protecting children and families during law school through her work with the VanSickle Family Law Clinic and W.W. Caruth Child Advocacy Clinic. She received her law license in October 2020, and shortly after starting her journey as a family law attorney, Victoria joined the team at KB Family Law. Victoria brings a peaceful, compassionate, and balanced perspective to the team.

With clients, communication is of utmost importance. Victoria considers her approach to be “person-centered,” always listening with sensitivity and compassion, especially regarding the unique challenges faced by the LGBT community. Although many divorce cases involve significant conflict over assets, Victoria helps clients focus on the future and how to provide safety and stability for the family. She understands that nothing can replace a parent’s time lost with their children.

In her free time, Victoria negotiates with three cats and curates an impressive collection of board games (her favorite, of course, are cooperative games).

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
