Hired Law firm 2018-2019Wes Rucker was very professional, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He put me at ease and worked diligently to assist me in getting my case dismissed. I appreciate him and his firm a great deal. Thus, I would recommend this law firm to friends and family.

Hired Law firm 2017-2019I received a felony DWI charge in 2017 after a one car accident. Because I knew that I was not guilty I decided to put much research and time to finding the best attorney possible. I did not limit my search to Houston. After many interviews with the best attorneys by advertisement and reputation in Houston I was not entirely satisfied but ready to proceed. I happened to stop into Mr Ruckers office after leaving another firm in the same building. Luckily I was able to get an immediate free consult with Mr Rucker. He was the ONLY atty that took the time to understand the nuances of my case and proceeded to lay out a comprehensive strategy to combat them many facets of my case. Immediately I realized that regardless of name recognition this was the attorney I wanted for my case. Every case is different and no outcome can be guaranteed because the issue is not decided solely by your counsel. However not only did Wes prevail he actually managed to get the felony case dismissed before trial, he also was able to get the license revocation hearing dismissed as well. Currently he is working on a complete sealing of the record so that further damage to my reputation can be eliminated. He is not the most expensive or well-known counsel however I can assure you after a most thorough vetting that you won't find a more knowledgeable hard-working and available counsel. I would have said this no matter the outcome! I would not dare to claim that this important decision should be limited on my experience but I am 100% confident in saying that your attorney choice is more important than even the facts of your case. Further, I am equally confident that if you do not at least consult with with Mr Rucker before choosing counsel you are making a mistake. For the record, before meeting Mr Rucker I had no prior affiliation or contact with him. I feel so strongly about this that should you choose to consider him I am more than happy to speak with you about the recommendation. Good Luck with whomever you choose...but sleep better at night with the Rucker Law Firm!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
