Hired Law firm 2007-2014To say that they are the simply the best would be an understatement of monumental proportion. I hired LPM for a trade secret theft case that was difficult at best, not only to understand but to pursue against three extremely large (Fortune 50) defendants who are well funded and have access to any lawyer and law firm in the country. Thank GOD I got LPM to accept my case. It took years to get to the end result, which was better than I could have ever imagined. They won me a jury verdict that was $50 million dollars more than what we had asked for! The entire firm worked on my case day and night for years. The appeals took years, but we were vindicated when the U.S. Supreme Court chose not to hear the case. I cannot say enough about the firm led by the partners who take a team approach to every case. If there is any question in your mind as to who to have on your team, look no further than Laminack, Pirtle and Martines. I can not imagine what my life would be like had they not taken my case.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
