My family is disgusted by our experience with him. He represented an individual who physically assaulted my daughter, who was leasing an old, run-down barndominium from the assailant’s family. Ernie repeatedly threatened my daughter and used intimidation tactics in attempt to continue to victimize her on behalf of his clients. He completely ignored facts that were not convenient to the case of lies that the assailant tried to paint, and he gave them TERRIBLE legal advice, suggesting that our family pay for basic maintenance and upgraded renovations to the rundown property. He has NO KNOWLEDGE of equine business matters, but he believes he is somehow magically qualified to claim that my daughter, the victim of physical assault by his client, has “no leg to stand on” and that our family owes $16k in nonexistent damages without any means of substantiating said claims. He is abusive and should be disbarred immediately. After reviewing other comments, it is clear that this man is a misogynist, who supports the abuse of women and empowers his clients to harm and physically assault young women. He has told his clueless clients that they will win a lawsuit, claiming $400 expenses for each item that clearly came used from Goodwill. He has them believing that we owe them to replace the entire carpet on the property when less than one square foot was scratched at by a cat. His clients are negligent and clueless fools, who should be prohibited from owning and operating an equestrian property, as they know NOTHING about horses and refuse to maintain a safe property for the animals that are insured for more than the value of anything they own. Ernie is a fraud, and his clients will suffer for the advice he has given them. We pray for his redemption and that of his clients, but to attack small young females and for him to support such behaviors and suggest that we owe him for his criminally negligent and violent clients unapologetically is beyond sad and disappointing. If you want an attorney that supports women being beat without cause outside their residence by unhinged, greedy, uneducated men, this is YOUR ATTORNEY of choice. Everyone else, steer clear of this sick human. Let the universe work out the things this man deserves and pray for his victims and the young girls who he continues to threaten and attack after his clients assault them. May the Lord have mercy on their beautiful souls.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
