Hired Attorney 2025-2026I chose Edward Law Group to handle my motor vehicle accident case, and after a full year of working with them, I regret that decision. The biggest issue throughout my case was communication. I was consistently required to call the office myself just to receive basic updates. I was told multiple times that staff members, including Sindy or Tamari, would return my calls, yet those callbacks frequently never happened. Even on days when I was specifically told to expect a call, I still had to follow up myself, often receiving no response at all. This created unnecessary stress during an already difficult time. On one of the few occasions I did receive a call, I was asked to leave a positive review, despite the fact that my case was still unresolved and I was actively experiencing issues. I declined. Based on that experience, I strongly encourage others to read reviews carefully and consider the full range of feedback before making a decision. I was also given expectations by my case manager, Allyson, that after losing my job due to injuries from my accident, there would be some level of consideration for my lost wages. My documented lost income totaled twenty-three thousand eight hundred dollars over seven months. However, this was not meaningfully addressed or reflected in the outcome of my case. During the billing and reductions process, I found myself doing work that I expected the firm to handle. I had to contact medical providers directly to move things forward and even provide their contact information to the firm. One bill was not included in my claim at all, leaving me personally responsible for two thousand eight hundred dollars out of pocket. Additionally, I was referred to Synergy Pain Management. I later discovered that my settlement of thirty thousand dollars had already been secured before the final bill from that provider. Despite this, I was still directed into continued treatment that I did not need. This resulted in nineteen thousand ninety dollars and twenty-two cents in charges, including a three thousand dollar back brace. I attended appointments where I was not even seen by a doctor, yet charges were still incurred. The treatment did not improve my condition and ultimately reduced my settlement significantly. Here is the financial breakdown in general terms. The settlement was thirty thousand dollars. Attorney fees accounted for thirty-five percent, totaling ten thousand five hundred dollars. Medical bills after reductions came to nine thousand one hundred seventy dollars, along with an additional administrative fee of five hundred dollars. The initial payout to me was nine thousand eight hundred thirty dollars, but after covering an additional bill that had not been included, my actual take-home amount was approximately seven thousand thirty dollars. When factoring in my lost wages alone, I experienced a financial loss of approximately sixteen thousand seven hundred seventy dollars. After a full year of handling parts of this process myself, dealing with poor communication, and being referred to costly treatment that did not benefit me, this outcome is extremely disappointing. If you are considering this firm, take your time, ask detailed questions, and make sure you fully understand how your case will be handled. I wish I had.

Hired Attorney 2024Edward Okwueze himself handled my car accident case out of all the lawyers in the Edward Law Grp. As I stated in my Law Grp review, he got me more than double the amount of money that the insurance company was trying to get me to settle for! I would refer him to anybody. He is professional & very transparent!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
