Overview
Ali Mokaram is the founder of Mokaram Injury Lawyers and has practiced personal injury law in Houston for more than 30 years, earning recognition on the Top 25 Mass Tort Lawyers and Best Attorneys of America lists. A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and Texas Southern University, he was admitted to the Texas Bar in November 1995. He then clerked in the Major Crimes Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas and spent a year with an established personal injury firm before striking out on his own.
By age 30, Ali had already recovered millions of dollars for his clients. Over the following decade, he co-counseled with some of the country's most respected trial lawyers — including the late John O'Quinn, Mark Lanier, Williams Kherker, and Susman Godfrey — before partnering with Walter Humphrey to sue the NFL in 2011 on behalf of former players in the landmark concussion litigation.
Ali continues that case today alongside partners Jeffrey Stern and David Buckley, now representing more than 400 former players in a settlement believed to be the first "open-ended" agreement in U.S. history — the NFL has committed to pay whatever is needed to compensate every player harmed.
That case helped redirect Ali's practice toward complex, resource-intensive litigation, including multidistrict litigation, pharmaceutical and manufacturer defect claims involving thousands of clients, and catastrophic trucking accidents. With more than 20 years in this arena, Ali has both the trial experience and the financial resources to hire the medical, engineering, and scientific experts these cases require — resources underfunded firms often can't afford, and that can determine whether a settlement reflects a case's true value.
Ali is available to meet with prospective clients nationwide and internationally, and considers helping families through a crisis the most rewarding part of his work.
