Attorney Information
Overview
David K. Mestemaker is a seasoned trial lawyer with more than three decades of litigation experience and more than 300 trials to verdict in state and federal courts. David has extensive experience in personal injury, products liability, pharmaceutical litigation, medical and dental malpractice, environmental torts, admiralty, commercial disputes, and other complex practice areas.
David began his legal career in insurance defense before joining Johnson & Gibbs, where he handled commercial litigation for Fortune 500 companies including Banc Paribas and Monsanto. That experience gave him firsthand insight into how insurers and corporate defendants approach litigation. He has also represented more than 1,000 clients in mass tort litigation involving toxic landfills, chemical spills, industrial fires, and leaking underground storage tanks. This perspective has been valuable throughout his career.
David approaches litigation with a trial lawyer’s perspective from the beginning of a case. His extensive courtroom experience has included both trial and appellate matters, allowing him to develop cases with an understanding of how the evidence and legal issues may ultimately be presented to a judge or jury.
Outside the courtroom, David enjoys spending time with his family, auto racing, basketball, pickleball, and collecting cars.
