Attorney Information

Overview

Imrana Manzanares has been with Abraham Watkins since December 2009 and serves as the firm's Nurse Attorney. As both a nurse and a lawyer, Mrs. Manzanares not only litigates personal injury claims, but also reviews all of the firm's potential medical malpractice cases. To that end, she has reviewed in excess of 1,500 cases.

As the firm's Nurse Attorney, Mrs. Manzanares is well-versed in the elements that make a medical malpractice allegation viable in light of tort reform instituted in 2003. Once a case is accepted, Mrs. Manzanares is involved in both the pre-litigation and litigation process, seeing a case all the way through trial or settlement.

Mrs. Manzanares earned her Bachelors of Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in 2002. Passionate about caring for those most ill, she worked in the Texas Medical Center's Intensive Care Units. In 2004, Mrs. Manzanares began attending law school at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. She found she could combine her nursing training with her legal training to assist patients and those most injured as a result of the negligence of another.

Married in 2004, Mrs. Manzanares spends her free time enjoying her two children, Amira and Rehan.

I was in an automobile accident that caused a spinal injury and my ability to walk was at issue, I needed surgery, I was confused about what to do, and had no idea how to do it. So I contacted a lawyer and he then recommended Imrana. What I didn't know was that because I was on MediCare everything was twice as complicated, so I called her and was immediately set at ease with her frank professionalism and caring compassion. Traits rarely found, much less together!!! She went to work at it and followed me through the doctors appointments, the surgery, and the rehab, all along the way working with the various insurance intities and keeping the ball rolling in a very timely fashion. She made sure that all bills were taken care of along with monies out of pocket to the ambulance ride. Thourough and complete, above average competence, empathitic, and honest. To me this wasn't about money, it was about getting back to walking, but with that being said, she did get the ammount allowed by law, and , yes im walking again. I know you might say she didn't have anything to do with that, but I assure you that without her, I don't beleive I would have recieved the same quality of care. And with her background in the medical field she understood all facets of the proceedures and could explain them to me. I will describe her character like this; honest, trust-worthy, professionally qualified, compassionate. An I will recommend her to anyone!!! But, before I go, there is one more thing that I must add; her communication ethic and skills are immpecable!!! I have never called and not been able to talk to her are her assistant, or gone more than 24 hours for her to return my requested call back. I can't say enough about her. Just call and you will see what I mean. Thanks , john
