Attorney Information

Overview

Mr. Rodriguez graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1978 and went to work as a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney's office. While there he gained valuable trial experience trying hundreds of cases to juries. Being in the courtroom every working day during this time helped him gain confidence in interacting with judges, opposing counsel, police officers, and juries. He developed valuable empathy in his interactions with crime victims and witnesses. He quickly gained a reputation within the legal community as an excellent trial lawyer of high integrity. He left the District Attorney's office and began his private practice with the primary goal of helping to level out the playing field for the little guy. Along the way, he served as chief judge of the municipal court of the City of South Houston, a Houston suburb.

For over thirty years, Mr. Rodriguez has focused his practice in the field of Plaintiff's personal injury, giving a voice to those who have been injured as a result of someone's negligence.

Mr. Rodriguez and his wife have been married for thirty-three years and have twin daughters. He is fluent in Spanish. In his free time, Mr. Rodriguez travels to his ranch where he rides and trains horses and enjoys spending time outdoors.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
