Hired Law firm 2021-2023It has taken me a while to write this review because I did not want to revisit all the events experienced with my children’s father. I’d like to thank my wonderful attorney Mr. Michael Puhl and his assistant Jeanice Barton for helping me and my family. He is a kind and compassionate person who speaks straight from his heart. I was fortunate to have Michael Puhl and Puhl Law Group to represent me in my child custody case. Michael and assistant Jeanice helped me determine what was in the best interest for my sons and consistently steered me in the right direction for the best possible outcome. Their knowledge, expertise in family law and overall confidence and attitude towards my situation made it apparent that we were well prepared for every issue or event that arose. Michael and his team helped me stick to our plan, which in return allowed us to obtain a better custody arrangement than what I originally expected and relocation out of state (which is rare)! I’m very impressed with our final outcome. I’ll always refer the Puhl Law Group to anyone who is looking for an educated, straightforward and honest family law group. Michael, I can’t thank you enough for helping me through this challenging situation. You are our Champion !!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
