Consulted Law firm 2023-2024I talked to Ashley Law firm and received excellent advice on a matter that I was concerned about.

Hired Law firm 2022Mr Ashley did a great job at helping me with my case. He was good with communication and explaining the case with me. He was worth every star.

Consulted Law firm 2022There is a total lack of communication from this attorney. We have been waiting for over a month just to get anything started! The statement slow is from his website and is totally false in my opinion! “I am able to provide you with responsive service that is results-focused. If you need personal, knowledgeable and proven legal guidance, I can help.”

Hired Law firm 2020Don’t believe other reviewers on here, they are either his colleagues, friends, or family trying to help his business out. Please read my HONEST REVIEW below 👇 ——————————————————————————- The 0 out of 5 star lawyer in Texas Steve Ashley ! Yep !! This guy is a sorry example for an attorney & just wants to sit on his but while you do all the work & while he sits there and runs your retainer dry ! Seriously, I’m not kidding. Any little question or concern you might have, this guy will charge you for everything, LITERALLY EVERYTHING, have any questions or concerns or wanting an update about your case ? Send a simple text to Mr. Steve Ashley & he will gladly charge you $30 per text ! (According to his $300/hour work fee) I guess it takes him 5 minutes to read a text and another 5 minutes to respond ! It’s funny how he does this for every text you send him. And not only that ! He will text you back hours later or even the next day ! And don’t bother sending him another text reminding him to answer your text because ooop!! That’s right ! There goes another $30 out the window !! 💨 I thought he was a good lawyer & I really wanted to believe that he was but he isn’t . Don’t waste your time or your money here, I paid $3,000 retainer and he (worked) for me for 3 weeks, and I did everything he told me to do. Which was to get all my evidence together and put it in a usb drive and give it to him. So I did that, and he calls me up a week later telling me that he will not go through it because (and I quote) “ you can’t afford me to go through this stuff “, and as shocked as I was from hearing that from an attorney that I just paid $3,000.00 dollars to. I immediately fired him. Because I’ve dealt with attorneys in the past (Real Attorneys) . And none of them would of dared to say something as stupid and ridiculous as that. He is extremely unprofessional and stuck up. (Let’s not forget lazy, as he did not want to work and even look through my evidence usb that I had given him) All this man did for me was serve my child’s mother her papers. And that’s literally it. And when I fired him, I asked for my billing statement and my refund check expecting to get most of my $3,000.00 back. But as I awake to see an invoice email from Mr. Steve Ashley (my billing statement), to see that out of the $3,000.00 dollars I had given him. He only wants to return $38 dollars to me. . . This guy is a joke. I wish my experience with this attorney on no one, not even my enemies. Please, don’t waste your time and money with this sorry excuse of an attorney. I wouldn’t even label him that .

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
